https://pilas.ai/api/mcp
Transporte: Streamable HTTP.
Qué responde y qué no
No estima.
Datos y privacidad
Free to use and to quote, with attribution to PILAS and a link to the page cited.

PILAS for assistants
Connect PILAS to your assistant so it answers «what does it cost?» and «is this price fair?» with a dated figure, the sellers behind it and a link to its page, instead of a guess.
What it is
A public, read-only MCP server over the PILAS reference price index: construction materials, phone and laptop repair parts, vehicle parts and tyres, solar and backup power equipment, and printer supplies and stationery, in 17 Latin American countries. It needs no account and no key.
Server URL
https://pilas.ai/api/mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP. Authentication: none.
Setup
- Claude: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, and paste the server URL.
- ChatGPT: with developer mode on, Settings → Apps & connectors → Create, and paste the server URL with no authentication.
- Other MCP clients: add a remote HTTP server with the same URL.
Tools
lookup_reference_price (Look up a reference price): Returns the reference price PILAS holds, in US dollars, for one article in one Latin American country, with the evidence behind it (how many sellers stand behind the figure, from one to three or more, or a median of other countries), the date it was read and the page it is published on. Covers construction materials, phone and laptop repair parts, vehicle parts and tyres, solar and backup power equipment, and printer supplies and stationery. When it returns matched=false, PILAS holds no reference for that article in that country, and no estimate is returned. Read-only.check_quoted_price (Check a quoted price): Compares a price someone was quoted or invoiced, in US dollars per unit, with the PILAS reference for that article and country. Returns the reference, the difference as a share of it, and a verdict: in-line (within 15 % either way), above-reference or below-reference. A reference is what sellers publish on a date, not an offer and not a ceiling. The price is taken in US dollars; the tool does not convert currencies. Read-only.list_coverage (List what PILAS covers in a country): Returns how many reference prices PILAS holds for a country in each of its directories, with a few articles by name and the directory pages. It shows whether a kind of article is covered in a country. Read-only.
Example prompts
- What does a 12 V 100 Ah lithium battery cost in Colombia?
- I was quoted US$150 for an original HP CF283A toner in Mexico. Is that reasonable?
- What kinds of articles does PILAS cover in Venezuela?
- This invoice charges US$12.50 for a sack of grey cement in Colombia. How does that compare with the market?
What it answers and what it does not
- Figures are in US dollars. Convert a price in local currency before asking.
- A quoted price is in line with the reference within 15 % above or below it.
- When PILAS holds no reference for an article it says so. It does not estimate.
- A reference is what sellers publish on a date: not an offer and not a ceiling.
- The connector reads no invoices or documents and changes nothing.
Data and privacy
The connector asks for no account and receives no personal data. PILAS counts how many calls it receives, by tool and by outcome; it stores neither the text of a query nor the address it came from.
